Drawings from the Life School, Royal Academy of Arts
Henry Bosdet enrolled as a student at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, on January 10th 1873, aged 17. By 1882 he was teaching at the Islington College of Art, and in 1883 was appointed Curator of the Life School at the Royal Academy. He exhibited an unnamed portrait at the Royal Academy in 1885, and in 1901 was mentioned in a letter (dated July 15th) to the Royal Academy by Ernst Crofts, Keeper of the RA Schools at Burlington House, praising Henry Bosdet's long service as Curator of the Life School (at that time 18 years' service). It is not clear from the signatures below if these drawings were drawn by the visiting RA tutors, or by Henry Thomas Bosdet, Curator.
